Our vision: At Grace Lutheran Church, we encourage involvement in small groups to deepen our understanding and grow in God’s grace as we study and develop personal relationships.

What are Small Groups?
Groups of people within the congregation who gather regularly to fellowship, find opportunities to serve, develop discipleship and worship together. Each group is flexible; determining how many participants there will be and where and how often they will meet. We will follow the model introduced by Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church and use the Daring Faith series to begin discussion and awareness of what a Christian life can look like.

Why are Small Groups important?
Small groups develop deeper friendships and accountability to understanding and applying God’s word to our lives.  We model and see what true faith is like. Through these deep relationships, small groups are the first line of personal support and prayer for each other.

Small groups develop leaders.

Fall 2022 Timeline

This Fall (2022), we are introducing a new round of Small Groups at Grace Lutheran Church. Here is our timeline:

Sept. 4th -- We'll have a bulletin insert with information on Small Groups that allow individuals and families to sign up to be a host or a small group member.

Sept. 28th -- Sign up deadline.

Once we have hosts, we’ll start offering sign-ups with some key information about their small group (when and where they'll meet, etc.) for members of the congregation to sign up. Hosts can "recruit" their small groups on their own, as well.

We hope to set small groups up to start meeting in October.

About Small Groups

Rick Warren has a great talk out on YouTube from a talk he did with Saddleback’s small group H.O.S.T.S. Click here to watch his talk and get some great insights on small group ministries.

Small groups At Grace

Small groups are a way for our church to grow closer as a family. It is a group of 6-8 people getting together on a regular basis for fellowship, bible study and to grow closer as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Here is how it works: we need people to volunteer to be a small group host. The host will choose where, when and how often the group will meet.  The host can invite people to their group or people can be assigned to the group. The initial commitment of a small group is six sessions. The Stewardship committee will provide a study to start with. After the initial 6 weeks, the group can decide if they want to keep meeting or if they want to stop.

Hosts will be asked to attend a meeting on Sunday, Sept 26, at noon with lunch provided to get more detailed information on small groups and to get questions answered prior to creating their group. If you would like to host a small group or if you want to be assigned to a small group, fill in your contact information below. If you have questions about small groups, please email stewardship[at]graceocontofalls.org.
